The different versions of the 2022 Lexus IS
June 15 2022,
The IS sedan got a makeover from Lexus in 2021. The model that has been on the market since the mid-2010s has evolved, and what an evolution! In fact, the lineup has never been more appealing to the consumer.
So here's what's in it.
In all, there are four versions of the IS sedan. Each one has its own personality, as it offers something mechanically distinctive.
The offer starts with the 250 version, which is rear-wheel drive. It's powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine that produces an adequate 241 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
The next step is the 300 all-wheel drive variant, this time powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 260 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. A more spirited version of this engine is also available, with the 350 AWD model. This one is rated at 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
And if that's not enough, you can turn to the IS 500, which responds to the roar of a 5.0-liter V8 engine, which delivers 472 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is also standard here.
With the 250 and 500 models, there's an eight-speed automatic transmission as a link to the wheels. Otherwise, a six-speed automatic transmission is with the 300 and 350 versions.
Equipment, of course, is generous with each variant, but what's interesting is that several option packages can be grafted on to the different variants, so there are ten times the number of different models available to us. The 300 AWD model, for example, offers four packages: F Sport Series 1, Luxury Package, F Sport Series 2, Ultra Luxury Package.
In short, hours of fun just configuring a model.
As for the rest, the IS 500 is a very well-balanced car with a level of performance that never disappoints. And, rare in this class of vehicle, the luxury sedan, the car is extremely reliable.
If you really want to get your hands on a different model, a vehicle that will give you complete satisfaction, the IS sedan from Lexus is a car to discover.
