2017 Lexus RC: guaranteed adrenaline rush
March 31 2017, Lexus Laval
When Lexus unveiled its new RC coupe at the Detroit Auto Show three years ago, it goes without saying that the entire auto industry took notice. Lexus has an enviable reputation among other manufacturers and especially consumers, but the Japanese luxury brand is also not generally recognized for its performance vehicles. Well, no longer with the new 2017 Lexus RC.
2017 Lexus RC: a design that gets noticed
With its wide and elongated posture, the 2017 Lexus RC is a car that turns heads wherever it goes. Do not be surprised if people come over and ask you from time to time the brand and the model you are driving. Its imposing grille is an unmistakable visual signature, and the hook-shaped LED lights under the headlights make it possible to recognize the car from far away.
But what's even better with the new 2017 Lexus RC is that it's as quick and fun to drive as it looks.
Two versions of the 2017 Lexus RC are available, in addition to another high-performance version that we will be discussed shortly. The entry-level model of the Lexus RC family is the RC 300 which is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that develops 255 horsepower. Available starting at $ 49,050, the Lexus RC 300 is equipped with standard all-wheel drive.
This is also the case with the Lexus RC 350, but the latter receives a more powerful engine that delivers 307 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque as well as being equipped with the F Sport Series 1 package at no additional costs. The RC 350 is also equipped with a blind spot monitoring system out of the gate.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission with steering-mounted shift paddles and a system called Drive Mode Select which adjusts the behavior of the RC according to the type of driving that we want to adopt.
Lexus RC F: a refined monster
Although the Lexus RC 300 and RC 350 are powerful models, high-performance car enthusiasts will want to turn to the Lexus RC F which is offered starting at $ 85,400. The latter is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 467 horsepower. That said, Lexus wanted to make sure that the RC F is suitable for everyday use, and so the car remains comfortable despite its breathtaking performance.
