The RC 300 AWD features an aspirated 3.5L six-cylinder engine that outputs 260 hp. Horsepower increases to 311 in the RC 350 AWD using the same type of engine. Both pair up with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The most powerful vehicle in the series is the RC F. It features a 5.0L naturally aspirated, eight-cylinder engine that delivers 472 hp. It’s rare to see a production naturally aspirated engine at this power level, but it sure performs.
The stock RC F accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. That’s much faster than the Mercedes Benz’s C 300 and AMG C 43 coupe models. The RC F Track Edition achieves the same feat in under four seconds, placing itself in a virtual tie with the C-Class’s most powerful trim, the AMG C 63 S Coupe.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe features three engines, but two of them are only accessible in the AMG line. The C 300 Coupe is the only trim available outside of this group, and it includes a 255 hp 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder.
The Lexus RC 300 has a slightly more powerful engine and a lower starting MSRP, but the main difference here is that many luxury coupe owners prefer the smoothness and feel of an aspirated six-cylinder engine over a four-cylinder.
