2021 Lexus UX Security Technologies
February 19 2021, Lexus Laval
The Lexus UX may be the smallest vehicle in the Lexus lineup, but it doesn't sacrifice safety, offering those who care about it the safest possible environment.
Let's take a look at what comes standard with the 2021 Lexus UX.
Lane Keeping Assist System
The Lane Keeping Assist System consists of a host of devices that are designed to prevent you from getting out of your lane unintentionally. It works by recognizing the road's demarcation lines, but also by recognizing the vehicles in front of us. In the event of a lane departure without activating a flashing light, the system alerts us of the situation in the first instance. The steering wheel also vibrates to warn us of a potential danger. Then, the steering assistance intervenes and puts us back in our lane.
Pre-collision system with pedestrian detection
A distraction quickly arrived at the wheel of a vehicle. If your Lexus UX anticipates a collision with an obstacle ahead, it will react in different ways. First, it will send you a head-on collision alert, giving you time to react and apply the brakes. If that's not done, the automatic emergency brake system will engage. Its purpose is of course to avoid an impact, but at worst to reduce the force of the impact.
The system also detects cyclists and pedestrians during the day, as well as pedestrians in low light, i.e., at sunset but before darkness.
Automatic High Beams
On a country road where lighting is often poor or absent, dangers are constantly lurking. That's when we activate our low beams to see better. With the automated function, they turn off when oncoming traffic comes in and turn on again when it has passed. This way, we don't blind anyone, and we concentrate on one thing: driving our vehicle.
With all of these features, you can take to the road with confidence behind the wheel of a Lexus UX.
