Here’s What You Should Know About the New 2023 Lexus IS
October 21 2022,
The Lexus IS was entirely renewed in 2021 and it continues to be one of the most modern and desirable vehicles in its category for the 2023 model year.
Four power levels to choose from
The 2023 Lexus IS is available in four different versions that are distinguished by their powertrain combinations. The entry-level model is the IS 300 RWD, which is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed transmission. Adding AWD to the IS 300 substitutes this engine for a 3.5L V6 that delivers 260 horsepower to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. The IS 350 is equipped with a more powerful version of the same powertrain, which produces 311 horsepower. For the ultimate in performance, the IS 500 hides a 5.0L V8 engine under its hood. Generating 472 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque, this engine sends all of its power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic Direct-Shift transmission.
Many connectivity technologies
The 2023 Lexus IS is equipped with most of the latest technologies in terms of infotainment systems, such as the Remote Connect function. This makes it possible to control a number of features via the Lexus App on a smartphone. For example, owners can lock and unlock the doors while being anywhere in the world. Remotely starting and stopping the engine is also possible and very useful in winter. In addition, the Lexus IS features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in order to allow drivers and passengers to stay connected wherever they are.
A high level of safety
The 2023 Lexus IS is also one of the safest cars on Canadian roads, as confirmed by its Top Safety Pick+ award that was given by the IIHS to the 2022 model. This safety comes from a strong structure, of course, but also from a host of advanced features that help prevent accidents, such as the rear cross-traffic alert and the pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and intersection support.
