The New Lexus LC 500 Cabriolet Presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show
November 18 2019, Lexus Laval
We've been waiting for it for a while and now that it's unveiled, we can only admire the work of the Lexus designers. It’s the Lexus LC 500 Cabriolet, a convertible version of the Lexus LC coupe introduced three years ago.
The new Lexus LC 500 Cabriolet incorporates the majority of the features of the fixed-roof version including its engine and drivetrain with the difference that it is now possible to appreciate the balance of the LC with our hair in the wind. Presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week, the new Lexus LC 500 Cabriolet will arrive next summer.
The new luxury convertible will be powered by a powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque with a 10-speed automatic transmission that allows the LC 500 Cabriolet to reach 100 km/h in less than 5.0 seconds. The performance of the LC 500 Cabriolet will be optimized thanks to a stiffer structure that compensates for the removal of the roof and offers the same agility and the same performance on the road.
The retractable soft top can be removed in just 15 seconds and can be activated up to 50 km/h. The LC 500 Cabriolet will continue to run even if the outside temperature gets cooler thanks to a new system called CVCA that adjusts the temperature of the cabin according to the position of the roof. There is also a neck warmer system that allows you to enjoy our LC 500 convertible even in the fall or spring when it is beautiful, but not necessarily warm outside.
The new Lexus LC 500 will also be equipped with several connectivity technologies including Apple CarPlay and the new Lexus Enform Remote system that provides access to a variety of vehicle features such as doors from your smartphone.
