The new Lexus NX is equipped with many technologies that are designed specifically to make the NX one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the road.
The hybrid system
The new Lexus NX 350h is equipped with a self-contained hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.5L gasoline engine and an electric motor in order to provide an impressive fuel efficiency. The presence of an electric motor allows for very smooth driving at slow speeds by moving the vehicle without using the gasoline engine. This is also ideal for driving in traffic, since no fuel is burned and the combustion engine doesn’t need to start and then stop every few meters. This system is entirely self-contained, so you don’t need to charge the battery with a cable and you can benefit from the system’s optimum capacity at all times.
The Plug-in hybrid powertrain
The Lexus NX 450h+ is an entirely new model added to the NX lineup. This version is powered by a plug-in hybrid system which allows and entirely electric range of up to 61 kilometers. This makes the NX 450h+ the most efficient and the most powerful NX ever made. The long electric range means that you can complete a large part, or even the entirety of your daily commute without using any fuel if you charge the battery at home.
Eco drive modes
Every model of the new Lexus NX comes standard with a drive mode selection system which includes an Eco mode. This drive mode makes the accelerator pedal less sensitive and it changes the transmission parameters in order to make it easier to drive in the most fuel-efficient way possible by giving better control over the throttle application and by keeping the engine speed as low as possible. This drive mode can also be used to drive more smoothly and comfortably.
