Lexus proceeded to introduce its brand-new 2023 Lexus RX on May 31. The new generation of the pioneer of luxury midsize SUVs and hybrid premium SUVs gets a new and improved hybrid engine lineup, a new plug-in hybrid version, more technology, a sportier design, and more interior space. The 2023 Lexus RX gains significant improvements in efficiency and performance with a new hybrid engine lineup
The Lexus RX has always been known for its comfort, luxury, refinement, and exceptional reliability in the luxury SUV segment. The new 2023 Lexus RX has all of that and more as well as exceptional efficiency thanks to a lineup of new and improved hybrid powertrains.
It all starts with the 2023 Lexus RX 350h. This new engine pairs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor in the front and in the back. Together, these engines deliver 246 hp and 233 pound-feet of torque. This gives the new Lexus RX 350h the same level of performance as the outgoing Lexus RX 450h, with even better efficiency. This engine indeed averages just 7.1 L per 100 km.
The 2023 Lexus RX 500h is even bigger news. The new 500h is one of the most powerful hybrid vehicles ever built by Lexus. It pairs a 2.5 L four-cylinder turbocharged engine with an electric motor in front and in back for an impressive output of 367 hp and 406 pound-feet of torque. This is enough to reach 100 km/h just 6.1 seconds while averaging just 9 L per 100 km.
The other big news is the introduction of a new Lexus plug-in hybrid powertrain on the 2023 RX. Lexus did not provide many details on this new engine, but we expect it to offer over 300 hp and deliver over 60 km of all-electric range.
The other option is a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that offers 275 hp and 317 pound-feet torque. This engine replaces the outgoing V-6 and delivers very similar performance with significantly enhanced efficiency.
A sportier design with better practicality
At the heart of the new 2023 Lexus RX is a brand-new design created a much sportier stance. The new Lexus RX is longer and wider which translates into a very dynamic design that will get noticed on the road, especially in the F SPORT models. The 2023 Lexus RX will also offer more interior space with a longer wheelbase translating into more legroom for passengers. There is also more cargo space.

As expected, the 2023 Lexus RX gets enhanced connectivity, safety, and infotainment technology.
