2021 Lexus RC: more complete than ever before
November 13 2020, Lexus Laval
The Lexus RC Coupe is entering its seventh year on the market, and once again, it benefits from small improvements that make it one of the most interesting choices in the industry, all categories combined.
First, among the family enhancements is the addition of an extra safety feature to the Lexus+ system, an adaptive radar cruise control system that is capable of operating at all speeds.
Also new this year is the addition of a variant to the lineup, the Black Line Edition. More details a little further on.
For 2021, the RC coupe comes in five different versions. Those bearing the number 300 are equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that offers 260 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. With 350 in its name, the same engine serves the model, but it spits out 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. In all cases, all-wheel drive is standard, as is a six-speed automatic transmission. Now let's see how each variant stands out.
The entry-level model is the RC 300 AWD Signature. It is generously equipped, and of course, all the other variants are also available in this version. These include heated front seats with eight power adjustments, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, as well as the aforementioned cruise control. The parking brake is electronic this year as well. The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications are also available from the initial proposal.
Upgrading to the RC 300 AWD Premium model adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, driver position memory, a heated steering wheel, as well as alerts for blind spots and rear cross-traffic.
Jumping to the RC 300 AWD F Sport 2-Series variant provides a host of F Sport features, including unique 19-inch wheels, tighter seating, as well as design elements that differentiate the model. Navigation is also invited on board and at chassis height, you can enjoy the work of an adaptive suspension.
With the RC 350 AWD F Sport Series 3, you get the more powerful engine, as well as a Mark Levinson sound system with 17 speakers.
Finally, the Black Line edition adds 19-inch F Sport alloy wheels decorated in black to the latest variant. That's the theme, of course, as the mirrors, exhaust tips and grille adopt that color. It's the same on board, too, but with silver stitching on the seats.
So this is what the RC range looks like for the year 2021. As you can see, there's little to say about what remains a pretty exceptional car.
