Here are the Technologies that Keep You Safe in the Lexus NX
February 17 2022,
The all-new Lexus NX benefits from the most recent technologies in order to make every trip safer and more pleasant for everyone on board.
LSS+ 3.0
The Lexus NX is equipped with the latest version of the Lexus Safety System (LSS), the LSS+ 3.0. This standard package includes many driver assistance and active safety systems, such as the Pre-collision system with pedestrian, cyclist and motorcycle detection which warns you of an imminent collision and applies the brakes to avoid it, the Left Turn Oncoming vehicle detection and braking, which monitors oncoming traffic when you make a left turn at an intersection and can bring the NX to a stop if another vehicle is in its path, the dynamic radar cruise control which allows you to relax while the NX keeps a safe distance behind the vehicle in front and the Lane Departure alert with steering assist, which can steer the vehicle back in the middle of its lane before it exits the road.
Standard AWD
Every version of the Lexus NX is equipped with an all-wheel drive system, which results in a safer vehicle on roads that are slippery or covered in snow. Different systems are used depending on the powertrain you chose in your NX. The entry-level NX 250 uses a dynamic torque control AWD system which senses when the front wheels are slipping and actuates a center coupling to provide power to the rear wheels in order to increase the vehicle’s stability and its capabilities. The NX 350 features a full time AWD system, which means that even under normal circumstances, power is going to all four wheels. The system can adjust the level of torque it sends to each wheel depending on the road conditions. The NX 350h and the NX 450h+ use an AWD-e system which doesn’t have a physical connection between the two axles. Instead, the rear electric motor is activated to provide power to the rear wheels when needed, which means this system is useable even when the gasoline engine is not in use.
