Lexus LC Convertible: A Grand Cru Has Just Been Born

The LC coupe caused a sensation from its first steps at Lexus, and it's with the same kind of hype that the debut of the convertible version of the model will be made. The LC Coupe was introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show last fall and makes its debut this summer at Lexus.
When we look at it, one thing comes to mind; the birth of a grand cru.
Here's why.
First of all, we must admit that the design of the LC is absolutely spectacular. With the convertible, we add a facet to the model, but when the soft top is raised, the silhouette remains the same, the result of a canvas that does not show the frame of the roof structure; a real tour de force.
Speaking of the roof, it can be deployed in 15 seconds (16 to be raised) and the operation can be done at a maximum speed of 50 km/h. It is composed of four levels of fabric, one of which has been designed to maximize soundproofing.
Second, under the hood is a seemingly tireless 5-litre V8 engine. Its 471 horsepower (7,100 rpm) and 398 pound-feet of torque (4,800 rpm) have a lot to do with it. Its sound is divine, needless to say. A 10-speed Select Shift automatic transmission is responsible for the link with the wheels. Under acceleration, the LC Convertible takes only 4.6 seconds to reach 96 km/h. Impressive.
Thirdly, to ensure that you get the most out of the model's mechanical capabilities, Lexus made sure to give it a chassis worthy of the name. Compared to the coupe, the structure has been stiffened, the suspension has been adjusted to take into account new parameters (including a slight excess of weight) and even suspension reinforcements have been moved for better results. The 21-inch forged alloy wheels always make sure the car stays planted. An adaptive variable suspension provides balance.
Fourth, you get the ultimate in interior design. Whether it's the quality of the materials, the advanced level of luxury, the air vent that sends warm air to the back of your neck (or the one that projects warm or cold air to the back of your hands gripping the steering wheel), the complete multimedia system with Entune functions or the audio system with an equalizer that adjusts according to the conditions, you've got everything you need for a good night's sleep.
Fifth, the choice of colour. With the LC Convertible, no less than nine body colours are available. Inside, four are possible, but they can't always be combined with the one chosen for the exterior. A 10th colour (blue) was available exclusively for the Inspiration special edition, but the four units reserved for Canada have already been ordered.
