What Are the Differences Between the Lexus UX 200 and UX 250 h?
September 21 2020, Lexus Laval
If you're looking for a luxury subcompact SUV, the Lexus UX has definitely caught your eye. By the way, you'll have noticed that two versions are available, the UX 200 and UX 250h.
Here are the main differences that characterize the latter, to help you make your choice.
The configuration
The main difference between the two models is their configuration. The UX 200 version is a front-wheel drive model while the UX 250h variant is an all-wheel drive model. Also, the 200 model is powered solely by its 2-litre 4-cylinder engine whereas the 250 variant offers a hybrid approach.
Fuel economy
Because of this electrification, the 250h version is the champion at the pump. Specifically, it offers ratings of 5.7 liters per 100 kilometers in the city, 6.2 liters on the highway, all for a combined 6 liters every 100 km. With the gas-powered model, the averages are 8 and 6.3 liters for the city and highway, while the combined rating is 7.2 liters per 100 kilometers. Either way, these are interesting numbers.
Power
There is a slight difference between the two models in terms of power, but it remains negligible. The 200 model offers 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque while the 250 version, thanks to the addition of the electric unit, suggests a combined output of 181 horsepower. Considering that the latter has a surplus of 135 kg (1635 kg vs. 1500 kg), performance is similar behind the wheel.
The packages
Finally, depending on whether you opt for the 200 version or the 250 livery, the option packages available differ somewhat. In fact, for both, the F Sport Series 1 option package is offered. However, to get a little more, especially when it comes to luxury, it's with the 250 variant that it becomes possible. With this variant, the Luxury and F Sport Series 2 packages are possible. The Luxury Package adds features such as a head-up display, integrated garage door opener, wireless charging for cell phones, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and a hands-free tailgate.
